It has been interesting to co-operate with FrostBit Software Lab for developing the Virtual Forest application. They are doing great work there, and our project is going as planned. The communication with the partner works fine. I warmly recommend FrostBit Software Lab if you need a good partner for a virtual reality or gaming project.

In addition to the most recent projects showcased in the portfolio, we have participated in multiple projects and implemented prototypes over the course of many years.

The aim of the project was to utilize the opportunities offered by digitalisation, e.g. reforming training and implementing a multi-level bioeconomy game in which the player learns to deal with, for example, side streams as part of the economy. The game was developed to support training in natural resources.

The project implemented a virtual model of a research institute / experiment on the French-Swiss border. The goal of the virtual area model was to serve as a tool for social planning for the community and residents. The project also implemented a virtual model of the tunnel to be built using CAD design material. The virtual model was utilized in design verification and training.

The output of the project was a 3D model of the new part of the CERN LHC particle accelerator and the regional visualization of new terrestrial buildings for IOS, Android, WEB and PC platforms. In addition, Oculus data glass and CardBoard versions were implemented. Mobile versions of the app were released in the Google Play Store and App Store.

The project developed a new simulation and virtual center to support the development of social and health education. Many different training modes and renewed simulations supporting knowledge- and problem-based learning were developed for the learning environment.

The aim of the project was to combine and develop design expertise as well as winter art and events in Lapland to create an export product, in cooperation between educational organizations and companies. A prototyping tool for snow and ice structures was produced as a result.

The primary goal of the project was to develop a functioning network of research, development and innovation laboratories with job descriptions. In addition, new methods for innovation cooperation between educational institutions, universities and SMEs were developed, as well as new tools for organizing product development and innovation activities.

A game-based virtual model of a new detached house model was produced for the Hyvinkää housing fair. It was done in collaboration with Stormbit Ltd. and implementation was done with Unity 3D multiplatform, produced for iOS, Android, PC and as Web Build.

Three different exhibition elements were implemented at the Metsähallitus Science Center Pilke in Rovaniemi. In the forest visualization, three different logging scenarios were created. By rotating the camera in the viewpoint of the virtual environment, the user can view different scenarios.

The Finnish three-dimensional tree and undergrowth models and textures used in the visualization were implemented during the MaaVisu project (2009-2010).

The MaaVisu project created a real-time 8km x 8km 3D model from the Ylläs area. The entire region was created using real-world data. The altitude model, distances, rivers, roads and others are similar to those in the Ylläs region of the real world. At that time, pLAB was responsible for the technical implementation of the project.

The main leader of the project was Metla, and MTT and Metsähallitus were partners. Real-world data from the Ylläs region were obtained from Metsähallitus, on the basis of which a 3D model could be implemented. Forest experts from Metla and MTT were involved in the project, who helped implement the forest objects.

An interactive, virtual learning environment for practicing practical care and service processes or individual care situations was created in the ENVI project. The project supported the development of social and health education in Northern Finland.
