Global Game Jam 2026 FGJ-site at Lapland UAS!

The international event starts on Monday, January 26th and runs until Sunday, February 1st. Most event organizers will hold their actual on-site jams on the weekend of January 30th-February 1st, and this will also be the case in Rovaniemi. The event is organized as part of Finnish Game Jam. The organizers in Rovaniemi are IGDA Rovaniemi, LeveLappi, ACT ONE and Createch North: AI Leap projects.

The weekend of jamming will happen at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences, starting on Friday at 5 pm and ending 48 hours later. Bring your own computer and other special equipment, such as drawing tablets or MIDI players. There will be some keyboards, mice and cables available for loan at the venue. Board and card game creators are also welcome.

We recommend to bring your own PC equipment and board game materials, but printing facilities and some shared craft materials can be arranged on site.

The venue has its own space for teams’ computer stations, as well as a break room where participants can use a refrigerator and microwave. Coffee and tea are available, snacks can be purchased throughout the weekend from the Café Lumen self-service kiosk, and the nearest Sale is not far away. On Saturday and Sunday, we will also have pizzas provided by the Createch North project.

In the evenings, it is possible to use the sauna at the AMK premises and there is also an outdoor hot tub, so bring a towel, swimsuit, and other necessary supplies with you! The organizers will provide more detailed information about the opening hours of the venue and the rest of the program later. The age limit for the Rovaniemi jams is 18 years.
